- Summary
- When he is ten years old, Martin, the illegitimate son of Victor, is introduced to his father for the first time. Years later in Paris, the story finds Martin carrying the emotional scars of a troubled childhood and beginning a career as a male model. There he meets Alice, a reclusive violinist, who lives with Benjamin, Martin's brother. Alice and Martin are instinctively drawn together, however, their future is threatened by the darkness that shadows Martin.
