- Local Note
- The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division's copy is probably a post-Lawrence Reddick addition to the collection; with a stamp of former owner: "American Antiquarian Society, Worcester, Mass." on the title page. Imperfect: disbound, treated, each leaves encapsulated or reinforced with Japanese tissue paper, rebound in blue cloth over boards library binding, and gilt spine; and it has the 1940 onward NYPL's bookplate of: "The Schomburg Collection of Negro Literature and History."
