Summary
Collection consists mainly of studio portraits of entertainers, that were probably used for publicity purposes, collected by drummer Eddie "Cutie" Perkins from the 1920s to the 1930s. Also included are an unidentified group of studio portraits and candid shots that may be Perkins (ca. 1920s and n.d.); studio portraits and a candid shot of acquaintances (ca. 1890s and n.d.); and a composite publicity photograph for the film "Stormy Weather" (1943). Some items are inscribed by members of the cast and production crew of the national touring company of "Shuffle Along" (1923). Of note are studio portraits of singer and actress Mamie Smith (ca. 1923).
