- Journalist and entrepreneur Tai Beauchamp was born on January 7, 1978 in Newark, New Jersey. Beauchamp received her B.A. degree in English Literature from Spelman College in 2000. Her career started at O and Essence magazine as a beauty editor. In 2004, Beauchamp became the youngest person and the first African American appointed to the role of beauty and fitness director at Seventeen magazine. In 2006, after briefly serving as deputy editor of VIBE Vixen magazine, Beauchamp launched and became CEO of BluePrint Group, LLC, where she worked with Dior Cosmetics, Nordstrom, Target, and Proctor & Gamble, among other companies. She became a style contributor and correspondent for iVillage.com in 2008. In 2011, she was hired as a national correspondent for InStyle magazine, before becoming the publication's style ambassador in 2012. Beauchamp also appeared as a style expert and personality on ABC, BET, CNN, NBC, TV One, and E!.
