- Summary
- Panel discussion exploring the relationship between playwrights and directors. Panelists who direct plays tell how they decided to become directors, and how they choose plays they wish to stage. Playwrights talk about how they decide to work with a particular director. Baron talks about collaboration with director Price on his play Visiting Mr. Green. Kaufman details his experiences with Gross indecency, which he both wrote and directed. Warchus talks about directing Yasmina Reza's play Art, and Mayer discusses his collaboration with Arthur Miller on the recent revival of A view from the bridge. Related topics discussed include casting, writing for film as opposed to the theater, and the impact of reviews on a production.
