- Summary
- Color lithograph poster printed by the Gillin Printing Co. (New York, N.Y. and Philadelphia) advertises the revival of Fred Hamlin's The Wizard of Oz at the Majestic Theatre in New York City. Drawings by H. Clay Coultaus around the perimeter of the poster depict all the major characters. The poster advertises that the production is arranged and staged by Julian Mitchell. At the time of printing, the show was in its 23rd week. The poster also references the show's success the previous summer at the Grand Opera House in Chicago.
- Biography
- Townsend Walsh (1872-1941), American theater press agent, business manager, drama critic, playwright and actor, was a collector of theatrical and circus memorabilia.
