Denslow, the Scarecrow and the Tin Woodman are shown seated, slightly facing each other, and holding hands, as on the interior title page of the book.
Biography
Townsend Walsh (1872-1941), American theater press agent, business manager, drama critic, playwright and actor, was a collector of theatrical and circus memorabilia.
