Local Note
The Schomburg Center's Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division has three copies of this book. Copy 1 in Sc Rare 326.1-C (accession no. H266109) is probably a post-Lawrence Reddick addition to the collection. It contains an "Arthur A. Schomburg Negro Collection" bookplate but lacks the NYPL perforated stamp and any other stamps or processing markings of the original Schomburg Collection. Bound in red cloth over boards library binding, and gilt spine.
Copy 2 in Sc Rare 326.1-C (accession no. H266106) was probably part of the Circulation Department of the 135 Street Branch; it includes {28}The New York Public Library: Circulation Department, 135 Street Branch, 103 West 135th St."; stamp on the last page. It was probably a post-Lawrence Reddick transferred to the Schomburg Collection. Imperfect: bound in red cloth over boards, library binding, and gilt spines.
The 3rd copy in Sc Rare D 16-21 (Lapidus Collection) is part of the Lapidus Collection donated in 2015. Imperfect: lack original cover, and housed in a commercially made 4-flap archival binder.
