Note
  • The five discs consist of three recordings made on separate occasions.
  • Disc 1 (ca. 3:50 min. of track 1) to disc 3, in Japanese: (Yasuharu? or Yasuji?) Nishiyama and Yeichi Nimura engage in an informal, general conversation. Nishiyama talks about his visit to Japan. There is very little conversation about dance. The handwritten notes in the original box read "Mr. Yasuharu (Yasuji?) Nishiyama came back from Japan at dinner table." The recording was made on July 4th, 1959.
  • Disc 4 (ca. 0:45 min. of track 1) to disc 5 (track 2), in Japanese and English: Mr. Nomura (first name unidentified), from NHK (Nihon Hoso Kyokai), and Mr. Sakaue (first name unidentified) formally interview Yeichi Nimura regarding Nimura's career as a dancer. From track 8 to 11 in disc 4, Agnes de Mille is interviewed by Mr. Nomura regarding her impressions of Japan. The handwritten notes in the original box indicate that the recording was made in January 1958.
  • Disc 5 (track 3 to the end), in English: Yeichi Nimura engages in an informal conversation with an unidentified female visitor. A majority of the conversation is regarding the purchase of a camera, but there is a brief general conversation about dance. The handwritten notes in the original container read "Nemtchinova & Nimura" and "Pauline Koner and Nimura." The female speaker in this part of the recording may be either Vera Nemchinova or Pauline Koner. The recording dates may be May 2, 1958 or May 27, 1958.
  • The sound quality is good.
