- Description
- 1 videocassette (VHS) : sd., col., mono; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- Documentary portrait of the Russian-born French, later American composer Igor Stravinsky. The program consists in part of reminiscences by Igor Stravinsky's son Soulima about his family's life in Switzerland between the wars; in part of picturesque scenes of Morges, the town on Lake Geneva where they settled; and for the most part, of excerpts from various performances of music by Igor Stravisnky's composed during his Swiss years--music such as performances at the Kennedy Center of Suite no. 1 for small orchestra and the suite from the ballet Pulcinella, played by the St. Paul Chamber Orchestra conducted by Pinchas Zukerman. At the end of the program, Soulima Stravinsky plays his set of preludes dedicated to the memory of his father.
