Introductory remarks by a person identified only as Rex Benwehr [spelling uncertain]; Irving Deakin speaks about David Lichine's ballet Francesca da Rimini set to Tchaikovsky's Francesca da Rimini, including its upcoming U.S. premiere. Deakin and Kyra Alanova [stage name of Kyra Deakin] recite relevant passages [in English] from Dante's Divine comedy; Deakin continues to speak about Lichine's ballet, including as compared to Michel Fokine's ballet Francesca da Rimini; Alanova's reads aloud a passage from a letter to Tchaikovsky about his Francesca da Rimini; excerpts of Tchaikovsky's music are broadcast accompanied by Deakin's commentary on Lichine's ballet as well as recitations of passages from the libretto by Deakin and Alanova.
