Summary
Martin Bookspan interviews American composer George Kleinsinger. The composer discusses his Jewish family background, his career as a classical and pop-music composer. Being a well-known as a composer of the musical Tubby the Tuba, Kleinsinger talks about his less-known music for commercials and TV documentaries. He also comments on his classical music works. He speaks about his apartment at New York's famous Chelsea Hotel as a place that has inspired him for many years to compose music. During the interview he discusses his Cello concerto, Archy and Mehitabel, Dance symphony and Joie de vivre, excerpts of which are played.
