- Summary
- Playwright Charles Busch and actor Kate Mulgrew discuss Busch's historical drama Our leading lady with hosts Michael Riedel and Susan Haskins. Mulgrew stars as Laura Keene, the 19th century actress-manager who starred in Our American cousin, the play Abraham Lincoln was viewing when he was assassinated. Busch and Mulgrew examine Keene's life and the impact of the tragedy on her career.
- In the second segment, theater critics Michael Sommers and Jeremy McCarter review three current productions on Broadway: The pirate queen, The year of magical thinking, and the Kander & Ebb musical Curtains. Includes rehearsal footage from The pirate queen.
