Summary
Filmed in Chicago, the capital of urban blues culture, this documentary meshes scenes of the city with musical performance and interviews with blues artists. The sounds of bandleader Queen Sylvia Embry reflect a new female consciousness. Harpist Billy Branch combines traditional blues with cultural politics.
