- Summary
- Documents the rise and fall of the religious movement of spiritualism from 1850 to 1890. Many prominents historical figures, including Abraham Lincoln, Harriet Beecher Stowe and Horace Greeley followed the "discoveries" of the spirit world as revealed through thousands of mediums. The film also discusses the complex relationship between spiritualism and social reform. Includes many pictures and writings from the period.
