Summary
After laying her eggs on the beach, the female turtle returns safely to the sea. Several weeks later, millions of tiny turtles tear through the leathery shells and surface. The race for survival begins; predators are everywhere. Many are seized by vultures before they even emerge from their nest. Although the turtles can reach the open sea in only a few minutes, few will make it. Yet, enough do survive to return to the sea beach years later to renew the cycle of survival.
