- Description
- 1 videocassette (30 min.) : sd. col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- Presents a performance of the title ballet by Eliot Feld and his dance troupe. The character of Tzaddik, which means "wise one" or "righteous man", is played by Feld. Inspired by Aaron Copland's composition, "Vitebsk," Feld conceived the ballet as a celebration of the spiritual enrichment gained by devout Hassidic Jews from a study of the Bible, the Talmud, and the observance of traditional rituals. A prologue documents the process of adapting the ballet to television.(This tape is also available in 3/4 in. format).
