- Summary
- Set in a U.S. Marine Corps prison at Camp Fuji, Japan on one day in 1957. The play evokes a modern inferno in which in which humiliation and brutality are the norm with guards and inmates performing a ritual of degradation. In the circumscribed confines of a chain-link pen, the prisoners are reduced to automatons who must repeatedly request permission to cross imposed boundary lines.
