- Summary
- The title of this tape comes from a song by Sesame Street composer Joe Raposo with lyrics by Hal David. The song celebrates the theme of America's immigrant heritage. The camera follows Mr. Raposo and the young students of the Third Street Music Settlement as they rehearse and perform the song America is. The youngsters reflect on their parents' and grandparents' immigrant experiences. The Settlement has taught music to the children of immigrants since 1894.
