Summary
Observation of Pier N'doumbe's handicapped dance class and three interviews with choreographers participating in the Kaay Fecc Dance Festival in Senegal. The first interview is with Malal N'diaya (artistic director of Dance Bakalama) who uses a translator to discuss his traditional Senegalese dance work, his company, why he dances, and his past experiences. The second interview is with Simone Gomis (director/choreographer of Compagnie Tenane) who discusses her work and performing in this festival. The final interview is with Nina Chipaumire (Urban Bush Women dancer) who reminisces about growing up and dancing in Zimbabwe, moving to Brooklyn, N.Y., and the creation of her work, Dark swan.
