Local Note
The Schomburg Center Manuscripts, Archives & Rare Book Division has two copies of the book; Copy in Sc Rare 326.1-F (Foreign slave trade), (accession no. E201382) is a "July 24, 1950"; post-Lawrence Reddick addition to the Schomburg collection, according to G.K. Hall v. 1, page 313, column 3, row 2. It may also be a replacement for one of the books; that may have been added to the collection when Catherine A. Latimer was the collection librarian; and Lawrence Reddick was the Curator. It contains a 1940 onward bookplate of: "The Schomburg Collection of Negro Literature and History"; but lacks the NYPL perforated stamp and any other stamps or processing markings of the original Schomburg Collection. Bound in black cloth over board library binding; and a gilt spine.
Copy in Sc Rare+ G 86-27 (accession no. 202327) is probably a transferred item from one of the research Libraries of the New York Public Library. It contains "The New York Public Library: Astor, Lenox and Tilden Foundations, 1900" stamp. Imperfect: brittle, loose pages, lack cover, or disbound; currently house in an acid-free folder in an archival box with other likeminded items.
