- Summary
- Holly Hynes (costume designer) discusses her background as a costume designer and working as a shopper and project manager, her move with Barbara Matera to New York Citry Ballet, becoming director of costumes at NYCB, touring to teach construction of Barbara Karinska costumes and working with Jerome Robbins Trust for reconstruction of costumes by other companies, what costume shops are and the positions held within one, the construction of dance costumes including bodice work and tutus, what a costume shop/designer bible is and its purpose, a look at costumes by Karinska, Irene Sharaff, Holly Hynes, and the only Anthony Dowell design, the artist-in-residency program with an apprenticeship for costume design, and the qualities that make Hynes a good costume designer.
