- Biography
- Currently an interior designer, Kaja Gam (born 1952) has had a varied career as a choreographer, performance artist, filmmaker, and the artistic director of the Awkward Dance Company, as well as a founding member of another company, the School of Hard Knocks. Born in Denmark, Gam moved to New York in 1980, and soon after formed the Awkward Dance Company. By 1984, she had joined the performing collaborative, The School of Hard Knocks, under the direction of Yoshiko Chum. Gam established her own New York metropolitan area home restoration and interior design company, Kaja Gam Design, in 1993.
