Summary
This program focuses on Australian choreographer Stanton Welch and two new dances commissioned from him by American Ballet Theatre. Welch is interviewed by John Meehan about the Australian dance world, his background as the son of ballet dancers, and his work as a choreographer for Australian Ballet and for various American ballet companies. Excerpts from the new dances, The long and winding road, with music from Peter Breiner's Beatles go baroque, and Clear, with music by Johann Sebastian Bach, are presented as works in progress.
