Summary
Excerpts from the dance opera The mother of three sons are interspersed with commentary from the general director of the New York City Opera and the composer, librettist, choreographer, and lead singer of the opera. Ann T. Greene reads a synposis of the opera, which is based on African folklore, and Keene describes how he brought the work to New York City Opera. Bill T. Jones describes the origin of the project and the creators comment on the original staging in Germany and the restaging for the American premiere.
