- Summary
- Tracks 1-3 (ca. 13 min.). Music and introduction of program. Host Marian Horosko introduces Indrani. Indrani speaks about the types of of dance she specializes in: Bharata Natyam, Orissi (Odissi), Kuchipudi, and Mohiniyattom; the origins of Indian classical dance forms; Kathakali; Orissi dance; her company, including the musicans; performing outside of India.
- Tracks 4-5 (ca. 11 min.). Host Alvin H. Reiss introduces Henry H. Crapo, a trustee of the Wasemequia Charitable Trust Company, a sponser of the Vestris prize for choreography. Crapo speaks about the Vestris prize, including the role of the Boston Ballet; the inaugural competition; Crapo introduces three of the judges: the painters, George Tooker and William Christopher, and the choreographer, Stuart Hodes; Tooker and Christopher each speaks briefly about the competition; Crapo speaks about last year's winning entry, Nostalgie, by Gyles Fontaine; more on the competition.
