Summary
Modern dance work combining live performance and video. Excerpts (ca. 3 min.) are followed by a full performance. This presentation, identified as "axone 1" in the accompanying press materials, was followed in Oct. 2003 by "axone 2," a version that included a media installation. The choreographer, Dominique Porte, has stated that her inspiration derived from a recent trip to Japan, where she was struck by the contrast between the frenetic pace of everyday life and the Japanese need to meditate.
