  • Videocassette one (ca. 5 min.): Ten o'clock news, aired WNYW-TV, Channel 5, July 1, 1987. Theatrical producer Joseph Papp is interviewed by Judy Licht on the stage of the Delacorte Theater. Papp discusses the New York Shakespeare Festival's origins as a repertory company which performed at the Emmanuel Church on the Lower East Side of Manhattan, and its first performances in Central Park from a mobile theater. Includes brief rehearsal excerpt from the current production Richard II, which Papp is directing.
