Summary
Former Jacob's Pillow students appearing professionally as part of the 1984 festival season speak about their experiences as scholarship students and their thoughts on returning as professionals. Most of the interviewees stress how studying at Jacob's Pillow broadened their knowledge of dance, gave them an intimate view of professional dancers' lives and helped them to improve the level of their dancing and focus their career goals. They praise the diversity of performers presented at Jacob's Pillow and the opportunities to study different kinds of dance. Robert Swinston and Ney Fonseca both discuss how Jacob's PIllow deepened their knowledge and appreciation of the history of dance. The dancers also comment on the companies they joined.
