- Description
- 1 videocassette (VHS, NTSC) (90 min.) : sd., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- Panel discussion, second in a series of three. The panelists, all former members of the Martha Graham Dance Company, share their observations of Graham as a performer, choreographer, and private person; her choreography and direction; and her inventive use of costumes and props. The recollections of Glen Tetley, also a former company member, are quoted from a recent interview. The works Canticle for innocent comedians and Ardent song are discussed in detail; Clytemnestra is also mentioned repeatedly. The panelists also recall aspects of a dancer's life in the 1940s: their sense of community, earning a living, making their own costumes. A question-and-answer session concludes the program.
