- Segment one: Playwriting in the schools, aired WNYC-TV, Channel 31, 4/25/87. At Intermediate School 10 in central Harlem, schoolchildren learn playwriting from playwright Arthur Wilson. The lesson is part of a program, run by the New York Shakespeare Festival, which has four writers teaching in public schools. Includes interview with New York Shakespeare Festival producer Joseph Papp. Segment produced by Marcia Rock.
- Segment two: Shakespeare on Broadway, aired WNYC-TV, Channel 31, 5/15/87. The New York Shakespeare Festival with additional funding from Newsday and support from the Shubert Theater and the New York City Board of Education, makes it possible for an New York City eleventh grade class to see a Broadway production of Macbeth performed by a multi-ethnic cast. Includes footage of classroom discussion following the performance with actor Keith David, and interviews with director Estelle Parsons and New York Shakespeare Festival producer Joseph Papp. Segment produced by Marcia Rock and directed by Jonathan Kunkel.
- Segment three: Shakespeare's birthday, aired WNYC-TV, Channel 13, exact air date unknown. The New York Shakespeare Festival players' performance of As you like it, featuring a cast of black and multi-ethnic actors, is part of an effort called Shakespeare on Broadway, also known as the Belasco Project, which combines theater with education. Started with an $800,000 contribution from the New York Shakespeare Festival and later funded with a $500,000 grant from the Long Island newspaper Newsday, the goal of the program is to reach 200,000 students in four years. Includes interviews with students, producer Joseph Papp and program director Estelle Parsons. Includes brief performance footage featuring actors Yvonne Cole and Natsuko Ohama.
