[Begins abruptly.] Jerome Robbins discusses his selection process for the ballets included in his upcoming retrospective, a Festival of Jerome Robbins Ballets; his choreography and how it is perceived; the opening night of Fancy free (1944) and the ensuing public reaction to it. Robbins discusses the creation of several ballets featured in the festival, including Concerto in G (1975), later titled In G major; The cage (1951); Ives, songs (1988); Glass pieces (1983); Brahms/Handel (1984), choreographed with Twyla Tharp; Gershwin concerto (1982) and The Goldberg variations (1971). Robbins discusses the works with particular emphasis on his response to the music and his work with the various scores [ends abruptly].
