- In this segment from the Toast of the town show, Margot Fonteyn and Michael Somes of the Sadler's Wells Ballet perform the Queen of the air pas de deux from Homage to the Queen. Sullivan introduces the dancers, and during the curtain calls choreographer Frederick Ashton also appears on stage.

- Homage to the queen premiered in London on June 2, 1953 as part of celebrations of the coronation of Elizabeth II. The ballet had its American premiere at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York on Sept. 18, 1953. The appearance by Margot Fonteyn and Michael Somes on the Ed Sullivan show probably occurred during the same tour by the Sadler's Wells Ballet.
