[Begins abruptly; audio quality is uneven.] Robbins discusses his association with Mikhail Baryshnikov; their first meeting; Baryshnikov's professionalism and focus; Baryshnikov's ability to inhabit a role such as the Harlequin in Harlequinade and Prince Siegfried in Swan lake; choreographing for him in Other dances (1976) and The four seasons (1979); his versatility; his professionalism and personality; Baryshnikov's association with George Balanchine and the New York City Ballet; his interest in exploring a variety of roles and dance styles; Robbins discusses Baryshnikov's feelings about Russia and his family [audio quality becomes poor]; Baryshnikov's defection from the Soviet Union [inaudible section]; Baryshnikov's adjustment to the technical demands at New York City Ballet.
