- Description
- 1 videocassette (VHS, NTSC) (23 min.) : si., col.; 1/2 in.
- Summary
- Modern dance work set to the music of Louis Horst. This tape combines footage of two performances featuring Rudolf Nureyev in the role of the Penitent, with two different women as the Mary figure. The camera generally focuses on Nureyev, sometimes excluding the dancing of the other two cast members. The final section of the work, with all three dancers in white, is filmed twice. Nureyev is seen with both casts and conductors Stanley Sussman and Robert Irving in the ensuing bows and curtain calls ; Martha Graham herself also appears for a bow.
