- From the program: "On May 20, 1875 Mary Todd Lincoln was sent to an insane asylum by her only living son, Robert Todd Lincoln. Her friend, Myra Bradwell, came to her aid. Details of Mary's trial and confinement can be found in the public record. However, in 1928 the attorneys for Robert's estate purchased all correspondence between Mary and Myra, from Myra's granddaughter, and destroyed them."
