- Track 1: 48 min. Colleagues and friends remember Rudolf Nureyev's life and career. Topics discussed include his first meeting with Margot Fonteyn and their dancing partnership; his residence at the Royal Ballet; his forays into contemporary modern dance; his considerable performance schedule; his celebrity, fiery personality and need for being the center of attention; the decline of his dancing performance with age; Nureyev as director of the Paris Opera Ballet and his demand to incorporate his choreography into the company repertoire; Nureyev's relationship with protégé Charles Jude; The King and I and his desire to keep performing; his battle with HIV and AIDS; the farewell tour "Nureyev and Friends"; his post-dancing career as conductor and conducting Romeo and Juliet; his production of La Bayadere at Paris Opera in October of 1992 and the public acknowledgement of his illness; the final days before his death.
