- Summary
- Profile of ballerina Veronica Tennant on the occasion of her retirement from the National Ballet of Canada after a 25-year career. In addition to a retrospective of her major roles, the program includes a montage of interviews with Tennant at various stages of her life ; a brief biography, with remembrances of Tennant in her youth by Betty Oliphant of the National Ballet School and Celia Franca of the National Ballet of Canada ; tributes from her colleagues in the National Ballet of Canada, and partners Anthony Dowell and Fernando Bujones ; and commentaries by her husband Dr. John Wright and daughter Jessica. Tennant herself looks back at some favorite roles, major influences (among them Erik Bruhn and Rudolf Nureyev), and memorable partners, such as Mikhail Baryshnikov. The program closes with a montage of excerpts from Romeo and Juliet, the last recorded at her farewell performance on February 12, 1989.
