  • Pat Catterson (ca. 14 min.) / interviewed by James Cunningham. Catterson discusses changes in her choreographic approach over the years ; her admiration for individualism ; her experiences of working with Yvonne Rainer and Mikhail Baryshnikov on Rainer's After many a summer dies the swan, a work staged for the White Oak Dance Project.

Lawrence reminisces about overcoming her father's opposition to her dance career ; and describes the experience of working with Jerome Robbins and Leonard Bernstein on the musical West side story, in which she created the role of Maria opposite Larry Kert as Tony.

  • James Cunningham (ca. 9 min.) / interviewed by Linda Tarnay. Cunningham cites Valerie Bettis and Dorothy Goulding as important influences ; describes how he got the idea for From the horse's mouth, the work's warm reception by participants, and its expansion to include dance forms other than modern dance alone in The horse's mouth greets the new millennium. He praises Viola Farber's special qualities as a dancer.

  • Ani Udovicki (ca. 9 min.) / interviewed by Tina Croll. Udovicki recalls her training and performing career in ballet, modern dance, and Baroque dancing.
  • Lance Westergard (ca. 14 min.) / interviewed by James Cunningham. Westergard recalls working with choreographers Antony Tudor, Lotte Goslar, and Anna Sokolow ; discusses the difficulties of starting a dance career today.
  • Cassette 3. June Finch (ca. 13 min.) / interviewed by James Cunningham. Finch describes her membership in Viola Farber's company ; her admiration for Merce Cunningham, for whom she taught for 30 years.
  • Elaine Summers (ca. 15 min.) / interviewed by Tina Croll. Summers discusses her experiences in making dance films ; participating in the experiments at Judson Church in the 60s ; and her piece Skytime.
