- Summary
- Director Peter Sellars and scenic designer George Tsypin discuss productions on which they mutually worked including Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's opera Don Giovanni set in New York City's Harlem and Olivier Messiaen's St. Francis of Assisi, John Adam's The death of Klinghoffer, Nigel Osborne's The electrification of the Soviet Union, and the film The cabinet of Dr. Ramirez. They also talk about their working relationship, the time and resources required to realize their ideas, and how they challenge performers to take risks, particularly on complicated or multi-leveled sets. Concludes with a question and answer session with the audience.
