- Colleen Dewhurst talks about how she came to study at New York City's American Academy of Dramatic Arts, her association with Joseph Papp and the New York Shakespeare Festival where she got her first big break, acting Shakespeare with Papp, her relationship with José Quintero and the works of Eugene O'Neill, Quintero's style of directing especially in Moon for the misbegotten and Long day's journey into night, and Harold Clurman as a teacher.
- Jason Robards talks about his first experiences in New York, the American Academy of Dramatic Arts where he taught, surviving by working all sorts of jobs, both in and out of theater, his first break, Eugene O'Neill's The iceman cometh, how he got the part and his feelings about the role, his connection with the plays of O'Neill, his feelings about playing The iceman cometh twice in his career, 30 years apart, playing in live television in New York, playing Shakespeare at Ontario and Cambridge, being part of the Repertory Theater of Lincoln Center and his love of performing repertory, the difficulty of playing long runs, his experiences playing many roles on television, how to study acting, and his feelings about the method school of acting.
