Documents the life and work of Afro-American concert dance artist, choreographer and teacher Syvilla Fort who became a leading force and living institution in the world of Afro-Caribbean-South American infuenced dance. Utilizes interviews, still photographs, and footage of Fort instructing dancers of various ages. Dance excerpts include Bacchanale, choreography by Eugene Little, music by John Cage; and Danza, choreography by Pearl Reynolds, music by Talib Abdul Quade (flute) and Edwin Tyler (conga), both danced by Dyane Harvey.
