  • Playwrights and pofessors. Carlton and Barbara Molette, husband and wife, have amassed several artistic and scholarly credits. Both were awarded graduate and Ph.D. degrees from Florida State University and University of Missouri. They have received a number of professional and academic awards. As a result of research exploring a variety of issues and concerns associated with theater, culture and values in the African diaspora, the Molettes have presented papers to international organizations and U.S. professional organizations. As playwrights, the Molettes have collaborated on several plays, which were produced by the Negro Ensemble Company, the Free Southern Theater, and a number of colleges and universities.
  • Carlton W. Molette has theatrical credits as producer, director, designer, publicist, and theater technician. He taught in several institutions; currently he is a professor of Dramatic Arts and Senior Fellow of the Institute for African-American Studies at the University of Connecticut. Barbara J. Molette has served as consultant for a number of television workshops and is an authority on stage makeup for Afro-American performers; she authored the filmstrip, "Makup for black actors." As a Professor of English at Eastern Connecticut State University, she is Associate Editor for the Connecticut Review. Their most recent play, "Fortunes of the Moor" was produced at Western Michigan State University, 1996.

Collection includes photocopies of four play scripts. Titles are: two versions of "Doctor B.S. Black" 1969 and 1987 (on t.p. of the first version: adapted from Molier's "The doctor in spite of himself." Author: Carlton Molette II. The other version is co-authored by Carlton Molette, Barbara Molette and Charles Mann); "Rosalee Pritchet," 1970; "Booji," 1972; "Noah's ark," 1975.
