Description
3 videodiscs (NTSC) (90 min.) : sd., b&w; 4 3/4 in.
Summary
Excerpts from the evening-length ballet based on William Shakespeare's play. The ballet's three acts are fragmented and performed out of sequence, and individual characters or the ensemble are sometimes missing. Some of the ensemble choreography has been broken down, so that small groups or individuals are recorded separately in parts intended to be danced simultaneously. This recording lacks Act I, scene III, Balcony scene; Act II, scene I, Lady Capulet's lament; most of Act III, scene II, The crypt, and Romeo defeated; and the epilogue.
