Biography
Playwright, actor and director. Charles Dumas, who signed his plays as C. dUMAS, received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the State University of New York, at New Platz, and Juris Doctorate Degree from Yale Law School, CT. Dumas was an often produced playwright, specializing in historic themes. His one man show, "Up from slavery: the story of Booker T. Washington (based on Washington's autobiography) premiered at the Edinburgh Festival and in 1986 toured Europe and the United States. Dumas is a celebrated lecturer on the U.S. Constitution and civil rights.
