The 1st & 5th works are from the composer's Motetti a 1-4 voci (1638); the 2nd-3rd & 6th works are from his Motetti a voce sola (1638); the 7th-8th, 10th-11th, and 13th-14th works are from his Cantade a voce sola, Libro 2o, Parte 1a (1633). Following 17th century practice, instrumental pieces are interspersed among the vocal pieces. The 2 works by Kapsberger are respectively from his Intavolatura di chitarrone, libro 4o, and Intavolatura di lauto, libro 1o.
Program notes by Jean-Marc Aymes and Jean Lionnet in French with English translation, and texts with English and French translations (19 p. : port.) inserted in container.
