- Contains a list of instruments. Each instrument is followed by a different combination of four beats or rests.
- Verso contains fragmentary draft with corrections of an unidentifed prose work: "There is no peace music. There are lullabies, military marines, love, protest songs, sonatas, etc. There [sic] won't stop war or world problems. Intelligence & a regard for the Earth itself, neither music or any other form of pleasure or excitement, is required: A shift from power and profit for some to service & utilities for all..."
- From instruction page of completed work: The I Ching (64 related to appropriate numbers) was used to answer questions for each phrase of the piano solo, Cheap imitation, an imitation of Erik Satie's Socrate.
