- Prints depict smoking (tobacco and opium), including smoking pipes, hookahs, cigars and cigarettes; and tobacco dealers. Other subjects include: eating and drinking, domestic life, student life, Bohemian life in the Latin Quarter, class differences, recreations, including swimming, attending the races and playing billiards, women, including women smoking, children smoking, animals smoking, fashion, and political issues including the Constitution of France. Also shown are bedouins taking snuff, and soldiers in Macedonia and North Africa.
