Review of Court Art of Java from the Kraton of Yogyakarta, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, Sept. 19-23, 1990. Four styles of performance were represented: Wayang Kulit, a shadow-puppet theater, and three dance drama styles: Bedhaya, Wayang Wong and Golek Menak. These performances formed part of the 18-month-long Festival of Indonesia celebrating Indonesia's cultural heritage.
