- The material relates to the early career of American dancer, choreographer, and teacher Eugene Loring and includes programs, press clippings, telegrams and letters, performance and shapshot photographs of Loring and other dancers, and three sketches.
- His appearances (under his real name, Leroy Kerpestein) with the Wisconsin Players and Civic Theater Players of Milwaukee are documented, as well as his winning of a scholarship in 1934 to the School of American Ballet, and his appearances with the Fokine Ballet and American Ballet Company (directed by George Balanchine).
- Includes a contract with Ballet Productions, dated 9 November 1934, and signed by Edward Warburg.
